This group is based on Marsha Linehan’s DBT model and is an accelerated 6-week course per module.  DBT Skills Group is structured to teach healthy coping skills for people struggling with intense emotions, anxiety, trauma, depression, stress and worry, and/or interpersonal/relationship issues.  In this group program, you’ll be introduced to a powerful set of skills to help you more effectively deal with real-life difficulties and obstacles, manage life’s challenges more gracefully and calmly, and bounce back from adversity more quickly.  Through learning to suspend judgment, increasing awareness and acceptance, regulating emotions, and using more effective interpersonal skills, group members begin to use effective strategies to optimize their life. Because this is a skills training group rather than a process group, it is designed to supplement individual therapy and participants will be required to see an individual therapist regularly.
