Liz Danbury, LPC

Adults, Trauma, Clinical Supervisor, EMDR, Dissociative Disorders, Telehealth Only

Liz is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in trauma work, PTSD, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, self-esteem issues, substance abuse, and mindfulness practices. She works with adolescents, adults, families, couples, and groups. She employs the powerful modality of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which allows clients to work through trauma and other issues more effectively than through talk therapy alone. She is EMDRIA Certified and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional through the International Association of Trauma Professionals. Through this training she has a unique technique to help clients process trauma without delving deeply into the specifics of the trauma.

Liz uses an individualized eclectic approach to therapy but she draws heavily from EMDR, Structural Dissociation Theory, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), and Somatic Experiencing (SE). She is also experienced in a variety of meditation techniques, DBT, CBT, Gestalt, and Solution-Focused modalities.

Liz understands that clients do not always understand why they are struggling. She helps the client navigate through basic human issues such as hopelessness, loneliness, boredom, fear, anger, guilt, shame, grief, career dissatisfaction, health, and existential crises. She helps the client put coping skills in a tool box to handle these struggles.
